The best golf courses in Boca Raton and Delray Beach (2026)

Thirty-plus courses inside twelve miles: who designed them, what's new in 2026, and how you get on each one.

There are more than thirty golf courses between the Boca Inlet and Atlantic Avenue, most of them private and most of them tied to the home you buy. That is the thing newcomers miss: in Boca Raton and Delray Beach the question is rarely "which course is best" but "which club comes with which house." This guide lists every course that matters, who designed it, what has been rebuilt (2026 is a big renovation year), how you get on it, and which ones you can play tomorrow with a tee time. Updated October 17, 2026; written from the Polo Club, where Ricky plays.

The short version. If you want two courses for the price of one membership, it is the Polo Club, St Andrews, Broken Sound or Boca Woods; if you want the most holes, Boca West (72) and Addison Reserve (27, just rebuilt by Rees Jones); if you want the newest, Woodfield (Schulties 2020), Addison (Jones 2025) and Boca Woods (Jones 2024). For public golf, Osprey Point is the one; for history, Delray Beach Golf Club (Donald Ross, 1926) and The Boca Raton (Ross roots, Brian Silva rebuild reopening late 2026).

The private club courses

Every course below belongs to a club, and at twelve of them membership is mandatory for homeowners, so the joining fee is part of the house. Fees and dues for all of them are on the 15-club membership comparison. Platinum Club of America rankings are for the club as a whole, not the course alone.

What is being rebuilt in 2026

How to choose, if golf is the reason you are moving here

Count the holes per home. St Andrews (36 holes, 700 homes), Delaire (27, 326), Addison Reserve (27, 717) and the Polo Club (36, 1,700) are where tee times are easiest; Woodfield (18, 1,300) and Mizner (18, 471) manage times with standard and sports memberships. Decide whether the club is mandatory. Royal Palm, Seagate and Via Mizner let you own without joining; everywhere else the fee is part of the closing. Weigh what else you want. Woodfield for racquets, Addison and Polo for fitness and dining, Royal Palm for the boat, Boca West for having everything. Then run the numbers: the Polo Club fee page and the 15-club comparison have a calculator for the all-in cost at your price. Ricky is a zero-handicap golfer who has lived here thirty years and plays the Polo Club; he will tell you which course and which club fit the way you play before you look at a house. Ask him.

Course facts are from the clubs' and courses' published materials, the City of Boca Raton, Palm Beach County and local golf press as of October 2026; designer attributions marked "as reported" could not be independently confirmed and should be checked with the club. Membership figures are the clubs' 2025–26 schedules as reported and change without notice. General information.

Questions buyers ask

Golf in Boca Raton and Delray Beach: frequently asked

What is the best golf course in Boca Raton?

For private golf, the most-cited are St Andrews (two courses, Palmer and Fazio II, with no tee times), Boca West (four courses) and Boca Rio (a golf-only club with no homes). For public golf, Osprey Point in west Boca, a 27-hole Roy Case course opened in 2010, is the county's showpiece.

Which golf courses in Boca Raton are open to the public?

Osprey Point (county), Boca Raton Golf & Racquet Club (city-owned, the former private Boca Country Club), Southwinds (county), the Red Reef nine on the ocean (city), and Deer Creek in Deerfield Beach. In Delray, the Donald Ross municipal course and Lakeview are both city-owned; Delray Beach Golf Club reopens from renovation in November 2026.

Can you play The Boca Raton's golf course?

Not as a walk-up. The resort course is for its golf members, their guests and reciprocal members from The Breakers, Boca Pointe and Boca Lago. It closed in April 2026 for a $25 million-plus Brian Silva redesign and reopens late fall 2026 as a par 70.

How many golf courses does The Polo Club have?

Two 18-hole championship courses, the Club Course (6,829 yards, renovated by J. Drew Rogers in 2021–22) and the Equestrian Course (7,012 yards, remodeled 2006), plus a 22-bay Toptracer range. Membership is mandatory for the community's 1,700 homes; the contribution is $250,000.

Which Boca Raton clubs have two or more courses?

St Andrews (two), the Polo Club (two), Broken Sound (two), Boca Woods (two) and Boca West (four) in Boca Raton; Addison Reserve (27 holes) and Delaire (27 holes) in Delray Beach.

Do I have to join the club to live in a golf community?

At most of them, yes: St Andrews, Woodfield, Broken Sound, Boca West, the Polo Club, Boca Grove, Bocaire, Stonebridge and Boca Woods in Boca, and Addison Reserve, Mizner and Delaire in Delray all require every homeowner to join at closing. Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club, Seagate Country Club and Via Mizner are optional.

Which clubs renovated their courses recently?

Addison Reserve (all 27 holes by Rees Jones, finished January 2025), Boca Woods (Woods Course by Rees Jones, December 2024), St Andrews (Fazio II rebuilt 2022–23), the Polo Club (Club Course by J. Drew Rogers, 2021–22) and Woodfield (Kipp Schulties, 2020). The Boca Raton and Delray Beach Golf Club are being rebuilt in 2026.
